Z93's ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
WEEK OF JANUARY 15, 2018
Christian Fisher is 17, a senior at Tomah High School. He is a great student and has maintained A’s and B’s through his high school career. He is a wonderful brother to his 3 sisters and 1 brother. He is very passionate about the arts and is not only an excellent artist but also has been part of many theater and dance productions through Monroe/Jackson county Theater and our local ACT. Christian’s true passion is Show Choir! He has been active in show choir since 6th grade. He has been in the TOMAH HIGH SCHOOL LIMITED EDITION SHOW CHOIR all through high school and loves competition season. He practices with choir 2-4 times a week. He has performed at the Warrens Cranberry Festival for 7 years with show choir and this year will attend 5 competitions!!! Christian is very much involved in promoting anti-bullying, promoting confidence for the LGBT community and is looked up to by his peers as being very comfortable in his skin.
WEEK OF MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 2018
Abby is a 7th grader at GET Middle School. She spends many hours dancing at Applause and she's been dancing since the age of 2 or 3. Abby is in competition dance, she also plays softball in school, and she's in the school band. Plus, during the summer she plays volleyball. Abby is a hard working kid who likes to succeed.

Hunter T Schultz is a junior at Aquinas High School. He is a three time starting varsity athlete in hockey. He was the top scoring player in the playoffs for Aquinas in 2016. He works very hard in, and out of, school. His friends and family are very proud of all his accomplishments.
WEEK OF MONDAY, DECEMBER 25, 2017
Grant is an 8th grader at Longfellow Middle School. He trains and competes in BMX. Grant is two hours from any BMX track, but he has a track at home that he maintains and trains on. He also trains in the gym to stay on top of the competition. He represented the US in the UCI World Championships this past summer in South Carolina and did very well at our USA BMX Grand Nationals. He placed 18th on his cruise bike and 29th on his class bike out of all the 14 year old experts in the country. In addition to being an exceptional bike racer, Grant excels in football and basketball. He is a trombone player in the school’s band and jazz band as well. He gets A’s and B’s in school and is in the high performance learning math class. He volunteered in a Grandparent Group that went to local nursing homes and he also volunteers in the community with his family.
WEEK OF DECEMBER 18, 2017
Andrew is a junior at Viroqua High School. He is a three sport varsity athlete and is a starter on all of those teams: Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He puts his school work first and because of that his GPA is stupendous. Andrew is great teammate and friend to anyone that knows him. His friends and family are so proud of the person he has become through all these years.
WEEK OF MONDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2017
Lillie is a 7th grader at Holmen Middle school. She is a dancer at Applause Dance Academy in La Crosse, and she is also is in show choir at school! Lillie puts in 13 hours a week in the dance studio, plus all the countless hours she dances at home. She also helps out at her church with the Sunday school program. Lillie is a straight A student and has worked very hard to get good grades. She takes pride in her grades and is always striving to do better!
WEEK OF DECEMBER 4, 2017
Adam Tallman is a senior at Bangor HS where he is a 3 sport athlete. He was a 2 time state champion on the football team in 2015 and 2017. His contribution to the team this year came as tight end and defensive back. As a defensive back he had an interception in the state game. He also plays basketball and runs track. At the 2017 state track meet he was part of the 4x400 m. qualifying relay team and also took 2nd place in the triple jump.
Academically, Adam is on the high school honor roll, ACADEC and student council.
Adam has completed 60 hours of community service.
After all this Adam works at least 20 hours a week.
Ava Jacobsen is a Level 4 JO gymnast with Dolphin II Gymnastics in Decorah Iowa. She is in her 6th year of gymnastics and 3rd year on the competition team. She has made the podium numerous times. She has qualified for the Iowa State Gymnastics meet for the last 3 years in a row. She will be going to Sioux City Iowa to compete in the State meet again in December. She also is on the 12 and under JO volleyball team and does league basketball at Mabel-Canton as well. She is 10 years old and attends Mabel-Canton where she is a fifth grader. Not only is she a great athlete she is a great student and musician as well. She plays percussion in the band as well as takes piano lessons. She loves sports, school, spending time with her family and friends. She’s a compassionate, loving and caring girl she would do anything for those she cares about but is fierce and competitive when she’s competing.

Olivia is a 4th grader at Lanesboro Public School. She is in competition cheerleading and her team, Glitter Athletics, just recently received a bid to perform in Orlando FL, in March, at the ESPN World of Sports Complex for All Star Cheerleading National Championship! Olivia loves school and excels in math and reading. She is a very caring child and is always looking out for her peers.

Quentin Lathrop is a freshman at North Crawford High School. He is involved in football, basketball, and baseball. He is a straight A student, and he took 3 high school classes last year as an 8th grader. He is involved in the Spanish Club and is considering doing Forensics this year. Quentin excels at reading and writing and recently won the National Woman's Relief Corps patriotism essay contest as well as 1st place in last year's science fair. He is a dedicated athlete and a self-motivated student. He makes his parents very proud!

Tanner (#7 in the team picture) is a fourth grade student at Irving Pertzsch Elementary.
He is an ambitious athlete who tries all sports and loves them all.
He plays basketball, football, soccer, baseball, golf, and enjoys swimming.
He also loves school, crafts, being with family and friends,
and all things animals. He excels in reading & math in school, but finds interest in all subjects. He most recently tried out for, and made, the Onalaska Royals basketball team.
It's a competitive traveling league. We couldn’t be more proud.
Kiarra Keenlance is an amazing three sport athlete from Westby High School. She is a senior and participates in volleyball, basketball, and track. She is also involved in National Honor Society and maintains an almost perfect GPA. She was also this year's Homecoming Queen!
WEEK OF OCTOBER 16, 2017
Kole Koehler is a sophomore at Winona High School. He is in boy scouts, cross country skiing, mountain biking and races go karts in the state of WI. In August of 2015 he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes but that doesn’t stop him from anything! He excels in academics and is one incredible young man!
